2007 Junebug Tournament

     The 7th Annual Junebug Kids Fishing Rodeo was held on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Wingate’s Lunker Lodge and what a great morning of fishing it was.  There were 67 children participating with 357 total fish caught in a 45 minute time span.  And this was in the rain.   

            First Place in the 0-3 year old category was taken by Peyton Brown, Second Place was taken by Kai Mills and Third Place was taken by Julie Miller. 

            First Place in the 4-6 year old category was taken by Colby Whittaker, Second Place was taken by Katie Alford and Third Place was a tie between  Nevada Hughes and Montana Hughes.

            First Place in the 7-9 year old category was taken by Matthew Tucker, Second Place was a three-way tie between Dakota Hosey, Josiah Austinson and Krissy Roton, and Third Place was a three-way tie between Jacob Christie, Morgan May and Hannah Pope.

            First Place in the 10-12 year old category was taken by Stennes Austinson, Second Place was taken by Andrew Adams and Third Place was taken by Levi Adkins.

            A Kid’s Casting Contest was held after the fishing tournament by the Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club with Andrew Adams and Timothy Frazier tying for first place in the 10-12 year old category and Casey Hyatt taking first in the 7-9 year old category.  These young men will go on the to State Kid’s Casting Contest and if they win there, will go on to the National Kid’s Casting Contest which will be held at the next Bassmaster Classic in Greenville, SC next spring where they will vie for over $250,000.00 in scholarships and prizes.
